5th Anniversary: Gov. Diri flags -off medical outreach in Ikarama Community.

Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri has flagged-off medical outreach to provide healthcare for vulnerable and less privileged people in Ikarama-and neighbouring communities in Yenagoa local government area of the State, signaling the commencement of activities marking his 5 years in office.
 
The outreach covered areas such as, immunisation, medical consultation, surgical interventions, screenings, health education, and preventive services to vulnerable population with particular focus on maternal and child health, non communicable disease, reproductive health, and minor surgical procedures.
 
Speaking at the flag off, Governor Diri said the medical outreach highlights his administration’s unwavering commitment to improving healthcare for all Bayelsans.
 
“The government will make this Cottage hospital built many years ago operational. I have directed the Health Commissioner to take immediate action.”
 
Earlier in a welcome address, Commissioner for Health, Professor Seiyefa Brisibe, noted that the initiative was aimed at establishing a robust and resilient healthcare system that ensures equitable access to quality health care for all residents.
 
Other dignitaries at the event were, Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, member representing Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency at the national assembly, Chief Fred Agbedi, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Right Hon. Abraham Ingobere, members of the State executive council amongst others.
