Mazi Onuma Johnson is a seasoned Nigerian public administrator and politician currently serving as the Commissioner for Special Duties (General Services) in Bayelsa State. A key member of Governor Douye Diri’s “Prosperity Administration,” his appointment is widely regarded as a significant step toward inclusive governance and national integration within the state.

Mazi Johnson’s career is marked by over two decades of experience in the public sector and community leadership:
Current Office: Commissioner for Special Duties (General Services), Bayelsa State (Sworn in on June 21, 2024).
Mandate: He oversees inter-agency liaison, state ceremonial affairs, emergency response coordination, and strategic government logistics.
Previous Role: Served as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Non-Indigene Affairs (2021–2024), where he managed relations with major ethnic blocks, including the Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, and South-South peoples living in Bayelsa.
Administrative Background: He is a former Permanent Secretary in the Bayelsa State Government, bringing extensive experience in inter-ministerial coordination to the cabinet.
