Chief Thompson Amule

Biography

Chief Thompson Amule Siloko is a seasoned Nigerian administrator and politician who currently serves as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Bayelsa State. A key member of Governor Douye Diri’s “Prosperity Administration,” he is responsible for managing the state’s traditional institutions and local government operations.

Chief Amule has a long history in grassroots governance and state administration:

Current Office:
Re-appointed as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in June 2024.
Early Governance: Served as the pioneer Deputy Chairman of Ekeremor Local Government Council (1991–1993).
Advisory Roles: Held various roles under state governors, including Senior Special Assistant on Security (2006), SSA on Chieftaincy Matters (2012–2019), and Special Adviser on General Duties (2019).
Regional Leadership: Represented the Bayelsa West Senatorial District in the South South Peoples Assembly.

Security & Traditional Order: In May 2025, he announced the suspension of a paramount ruler in the Swali community due to security failures regarding cult activities.
